RALEIGH, NC (AP) -- Two North Carolina Democratic political strategists who have worked for high-profile candidates were seriously wounded after being stabbed in their Raleigh home, and a suspect has been charged.
Raleigh police said Tuesday that 31-year-old Jonathon Wayne Broyhill is charged with attempted murder and with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflecting serious injury. Broyhill was also wounded and taken to WakeMed.
Broyhill is accused of stabbing 27-year-old Nation Richard Hahn and his wife, 29-year-old Jameson Kirk Hahn, at their home Monday evening. A wedding announcement in a South Carolina newspaper listed Broyhill as the best man at the couple's wedding in April 2009.
A spokeswoman at WakeMed said Jameson Kirk was listed in critical condition, while Broyhill is in good condition. Nation Hahn was treated and released.
